My Story

Even though I was a Liberal Arts major attending college in Philadelphia, I became so fascinated with food that I seriously considered dropping out and enrolling in culinary school. A few years after graduation, I took a leap of faith and attended The Culinary Institute of America back home in NY. I learned so much about food and the many career opportunities that were available to me. I began baking pound cakes for family and friends, while working as a product development specialist for a food manufacturing company in the Cleveland area. A few years later, Zana Cakes was born.

I am amazed how much I still enjoy baking cakes after all these years. When I receive customers’ compliments about how they enjoy my cakes because it reminds them of a special time in their past, I still get excited as though I am hearing this for the first time.
